Phnom Penh - Udong Hill by Bike Tour

Udong is a former capital of Cambodia ( 1618-1866 )Located 41 Kilometers north of Phnom Penh. The site is included the submit of five hill : Trai Treng, Chetdie, Chetdei Kampoul Boun, Preah Ang cholnipean and Ariyakasaks. Chet Dei and Trei Treng are at the same high and to get to the Trei Treng you’ve got to climb the 509 steps stair. The new stupa is Trei Treng where it housed the Buddha relics and hundreds of small Buddha statues on the inside.
Udong hill is covered an area of 1500 meters by 700 meters. If you look close up, Udong is appear like two hump-back hills and is said to be shaped like a dragon. Other stupas up on this hill housed the ashes of the previous kings. Vihea Phrea Atharoas sanctuary of 18 cubit Buddha retains the scars from the war in 1970s and the 8 huge columns of the shrine rise into the sky which the roofs were destroyed by Khmer Rough soldiers in 1977 but the new one has been reconstructed recently.
We pedal a little bit through the hustling and bustling city and the local villages until we get to the hill . After exploring we will enjoy our lunch in a local restaurant near by and explore the local market later then we pedal all the way home.
